Thomas L. Green
Our Dad and Papa

1.  Can't never did a thing! When I look at a project, I don't see the can'ts - I see how I can.  Most of the things in my life that I've accomplished, I accomplished because you taught me that I could if I thought I could.

2. Hard work is it's own reward. By example, and by teaching, you've taught all three of us to work hard.  As we grew up, we learned the importance and the reward of working hard.  Most of the things in life that I've accomplished, I've accomplished because you taught me how to work hard.

3.  If you're going to do a job, do it right! Mine is a demanding job, where details and perfection (which don't come naturally to me!) are critical.  I put your lessons of doing a job right, and taking care of the details are put into action everyday!

4.  Just as you taught me the importance of work, so you taught me to be bold and to explore. You taught us not to be afraid of new things and new places.  Your sense of adventure - traveling down those many old logging roads in Canada, for example - has taken me places that I never would have been had I been timid.

5.  Education and learning are the keys to a good life. You told us how important education and learning were and we listened.  And you not only told us it was important, you showed us how important it was to you when you returned to school and earned your high school diploma.  What an impact!

Thank you Dad,
For being such a great grandfather!
For supporting me and the things that I do!
For instilling in me a love of photography and travel.
A love of ice cream!
For teaching the boys to fish!!
And most of all, for loving us and taking care of us all.

And as you taught us, Tim and I are teaching our children these lessons - they will live on forever!  We love you.

Happy Birthday Dad!
Seventy years young - and you are so alive and full of love.
I've been thinking about your life, and what you've meant to me this week, and I wanted to share some of my thoughts with you.  And to tell you how much we love you!!  Here are some things I learned from you Dad!
